X-men Origins: Wolverine is so much cooler than the X-Men trilogy. There are more fantastic stunts and scenes and the plot is more interesting too. Some of the mutants like Gambit that never get to show up in X-Men trilogy finally show up in the movie. However, the Gambit in this movie isn’t good-looking and cool enough compare to the comic version. They should have got someone else to take the role ….. In addition, I dun think that Hugh is suitable to be Wolverine as well. Yeah he has that macho body but his look is just too tame. Wolverine has to be wild and fierce like an animal! … I’m glad that the mutants didn’t have to wear that ridiculous outfit as portrayed in the trilogy this time ….. Have I mentioned that the special mutant squad that is recruited by the government is AWESOME? You should see how Agent Zero shoots his enemy down with his gun and how Deadpool uses his sword to dodge those bullets …… Besides that, I wanna give 5 stars to the film’s shooting location, the Canadian Rockies. The scenery is just breath taking. I used to dream about visiting that place and the movie just made me even more thrilled about that dream. Hmmm, so after this, I wonder which X-Men will be featured into a movie? I hope it is Storm.
Whew, just finished watching a very touching Thai movie yesterday night called Friendship. It was a VERY good movie indeed. It gave you laughter at the beginning but tears at the end. It’s definitely that kind of movie that I like. Anyway, I thought the director took a great risk by ending the show like that. However, I’m glad that he did it cuz it made the movie so much more meaningful.
The movie was about a good-hearted but rebellious school boy who fell in love with the new girl in class. He first started off didn’t know how to approach her and thus decided to use the not-so-smart kind of way which is to tease and to make fun of her. He certainly got her attention but not in a good way. The poor girl just hated him to death. He soon found out about the girl’s family background. Her family was involved in a car accident when she was little causing her mother to become deaf-and-dumb. Her father couldn’t accept the reality and hence left the two of them. The boy then apologized to the girl for what he had done to her in the past when he realized about it. The love sparks were finally sparkled between them. The two love birds were separated after their final exam. They decided that they would meet again during the day when the exam results were released. However, when that day finally arrived, they didn’t get to meet each other …..
Thailand movie industry really has to give more awards to Mario Maurer as more people are starting to pay attention to Thai movies because of him. Yah, I'm one of them. He's just way too cute to go unnoticed. Plus, he is a better actor than a lot of the other actors out there. People just enjoy watching him. Agree? Ehehehehe
David was here in KL a couple of weeks ago to do a live show but I missed it ... uhhhh .... not on purpose though. I just couldn't get the tickets! I'd tried to get it through Digi, The Rock Corner Music Stores and I even SMSed to hitz.fm. But luck just wasn't on my side and I'm really frustrated about it. The next day after the show, I read a forum where ppl left comments saying that there were plenty of tickets being given out that day .... every Tom, Dick and Harry get to go inside and watch as long as you wanted it. I'm totally fucked when I realized that! To make things even worse, I was actually at 1U during that time, just a few kilometers away from the live show's venue! Try and imagine how I felt ..... argh!
Penelope, a movie that had been stored in my HDD for quite some time dy. I previewed it a couple of times before and found that it was not really interesting. However, I refused to delete it as James McAvoy was starring in it. Well, I'm glad that I made that decision. It was a great movie indeed. Touching and I can relate myself with Penelope.
It was a story of a girl who had been cursed by an evil witch to look like a pig until the day she was married to a blue blood, and then only the cursed will be undone. In the mean time, her mother had arranged a lot of the kind to date her but they all ended up with one same reaction, running away after finding out what she really looked like. Sounds like a fairy tale yah? But I felt Penelope and I were very alike. I can’t have a love life that I always dream of. The people that I fell in love with will always find out about how I feel about them and then they’ll get scared and run away. I know this is not a curse but sometimes I do prefer that it was as there will always be a way to break a curse. But for my situation, it is fate and you could do nothing about it. I hope there’s gonna be an end to this. Even Penelope got a man that truly loves her in the end … and that man is not just any ordinary man, he’s James McAvoy !

There were a lot of changes to this year’s show compared to the previous ones. The first of all will be the venue. This time they went all the way to Fontain Bleau Miami Beach and held it at outdoor instead of doing it in indoor. However, I dun think that this was a good change though as it made the whole thing looked less classy and less elegance. This kind of show should be done in ballroom with all the crazy decoration and lighting. Furthermore, I’m not sure whether they had taken the weather into consideration. How the hell are they going to continue with the show if it rains that day? The only good thing about it was that they can actually had fireworks at the end of the show but fireworks dun always impress me.
The theme for this year’s show was “Return to Glamour”. However, I dun think that it suits the show at all for some reasons. First of all, as I said, it was less classy to do it in outdoor. Secondly, the models were acting more casual than usual. I know it’s good to include some personalities on the runway but you should never overdo it. That’s what happened to the models this year. They shake their booties, they kissed, they flirted, they dance, they run and etc. Come on, this was a fashion show and you should do it like a proper fashion show. If you wanna add in some personality, fine! Do it once or twice but not throughout the show. It’s a big NO NO for me.
Next, I’m gonna mention about the stage. It’s the biggest disaster of the show this year. They created a stage that a normal superstar will use in their concert … but this is not a concert and they shouldn’t do a stage like that! A fashion show should have a proper T-shaped runway. In that way only the viewers can watch from all angles. I’m sure the cameramen were having a hard time thinking how to shoot it as well. I was having a hard time getting used to the stage while I’m watching. What about you?
The show was divided into 6 sections this year. Firstly, the “Glamour Goddess” section where the models were being dressed to look like Xena, the warrior princess. I thought that they looked fierce and were ready to kick some ass … ^_^ Next, they had the “Dangerous” section in which I felt like I’d walked into a James Bond movie with all the sexy Bond girls walking in front of me. Trust me, they did looked dangerous and I liked it! Then they had the “Modern” section that I liked the least as I dun feel any modernity in it. Conversely, I felt that it was a bit old school. I dun like the circles or bubbles or whatever-you-wanna-call-it outfit. Fourth section will be the “Pink Planet”. It was the most youthful and the most energetic section of all. They had all the cute dancers dancing to the cute song, “That’s Not My Name”, on stage while the models walked down the runway. I liked the dancers a lot as they were really funky. I also noticed that no angel walked in this section. In fact, most of the models that walked in this section were only involved in this section throughout the show. Maybe the organizers feel the need to use models that were young and cheerful in order to work this section. Angels just looked way too mature for it. As for the fifth section, they had “Ballet De Fleurs”. It was my favorite section in which models were dressed like flowers and butterflies. Everything just felt so romantic. In addition, they had rose petals falling all over the stage during this section. It really made people felt like Valentine’s Day. Finally, they had the “Black Tie Holiday” where the models were dressed in black outfits. It brought out a mysterious vibe to the show.
The music that they used this year were mostly current hits songs. I dunno whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing. The good thing was that most of us knew the songs very well and were able to sing along with it. On the other hand, the bad thing was that they dun had the suitable rhythm for fashion show … you know the “boom, boom, boom” rhythm with the models taking one step with each boom. My suggestion was that they could use current hit songs but did a little remix to it. As for the performers, they invited Usher and Jorge Moreno this year. I dun really enjoyed their performance as much as some of the attendees that day. I thought VS should hire Britney Spears. They got Spice Girls to had their come back on the show last year, so why not Britney Spears? Not only is she a great performer, she is making her career come back around that time too. In addition, if they got Britney, I’m sure their rating will increase like nobody’s business! One more thing, do not get the performers to perform while the models are walking. It’s distracting and annoying!
I could see a lot of fresh faces this year. Some of them were good and some of them were bad. Heidi Klum and Miranda Kerr totally kicked ass this year. They looked amazing and didn’t overdo on the runway. On the contrary, Adriana Lima and Selita Ebanks sucked. Adriana was way too bitchy and Selita had a bad hair day. They said that Karolina gained a bit of weight this year and almost didn’t make the show. I do agree that she gained a little weight but she still looked slimmer than Tyra Banks. If Tyra was allowed to do the show last time when she’s fat, why not Karolina? Furthermore, I thought Tyra once said that VS never ask their models to lose weight. So, what’s with all the buzz saying Karolina is too fat for the show? I love Karolina, please dun exclude her. Talking about kicking people out of the show, they kicked Izabel out as an angel this year and crowned another model name Doutzen to replace her. I dunno why they did it cuz I think Izabel is a lot better than Doutzen. If they really have to kick someone out, try kicking Adriana or Marisa out first. Conversely, they should make Angela Lindvall and Ana Beatriz as their angels.
